Privacy policy

RinkNearMe has no accounts, no sign-up forms and no comments. This page explains the little that is collected and why.

What we collect

• Email you send us. If you write to hello@rinknearme.com, we keep your message and address to reply and to fix the listing you wrote about. We do not add you to a mailing list or share your address.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) records standard request data (IP address, browser, page requested, time) to run and secure the site. These logs are kept for a limited period and are not used to identify you.
• Your location. If you press “Use my location”, your browser shares your position with the page only, after asking you. The distance calculation runs in your browser: your location is never sent to us or put in the page address. ZIP codes and town names you type are looked up in files the page downloads, also in your browser.

Advertising and cookies

The site does not show ads today. If it does in the future, it will use Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites, and to measure them. You can turn off personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, and learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info. Where required by law, Google asks for your consent before setting advertising cookies. This page will be updated before ads appear.

Links to other sites

Listings link to rink websites, Google Maps and OpenStreetMap. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.
